Soho Artist Oil Color Titanium White, 430ml CanSave Up to81%Off listWhite Artist Oils at The Best Value! Good color is vital for the success of the painter! Thick and Rich Color! Good color is vital for the success of the painter. Only oil colors that act like oil colors and provide for lasting and predictable results should be considered by any artist at any skill level. Many brands of student grade oil color don't feel like genuine oil colors and don't mix well, ultimately achieving less appealing results in a finished painting. This artist range of colors is designed for all artists at all skill levels. It is particularly well loved by oil colorists that use lots of color seeking high performance and economy. SoHo Oils are slowly ground on triple roller mills allowing pure refined linseed oil to completely encapsulate the pigment for maximum luminosity and superb handling properties. SoHo Urban Artist Oil Colors eliminate the need for student oils, providing first time artists and professional artists on a tight budget the use of "real" color with a buttery consistency, excellent pigment load and lightfast results. That way, once they can afford better, they can move up to a more expensive brand, already familiar with what a true oil color can do. Glazing is no problem with these colors, and palette knife painting is quick and expressive, just as you would expect from far more costly brands. If you are looking for the next step up in color, we recommend Lukas Studio Oil Colors. W & N Artisan Water Mixable Oil Introduction Set of 20, 12ml TubesSave Up to40%Off listAssorted Colors Who Says Oil and Water Don't Mix! Designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint Just because oil and water don't mix in your kitchen doesn't mean there aren't other methods to make them happy in each other's company. A most effective route is through the addition of a chemical emulsifier that has an attraction on one side of the molecule for water and, on the other, for oil. The result? A happy match made, if not in heaven, at least in the laboratory. Mix with Water - Artisan provides all the characteristics expected from conventional oil color: High pigment strength, a high proportion of single pigments, and variable opacity. The key difference is their ability to be mixed with water even though they are made with traditional oil binders. Chemical analysis has indicated that any added water fully leaves the paint film within a short time; no water remains "trapped" to weaken or loosen the color on the canvas. Drying Time- The water evaporates out of the paint film fairly rapidly leaving behind a conventional oil color that dries by oxidation, as normal. Adhesion and drying time have been shown to be comparable to conventional oil color. Research has also shown that the dried Artisan film is similar to a conventional oil film in solvent resistance, yet remains slightly softer than conventional colors, offering increased flexibility, which is a very good thing. Your canvas can flex with changes in temperature and humidity; a paint film that will go along with it will better resist cracking or lifting. Key Features: * 40 vibrant tones * Designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint * Thick, buttery consistency * All colors are touch dry in 2-12 days * Clean up is easy with just soap and water! * High pigment strength and variable opacity * Mix with water and avoid hazardous solvents * Made from modified linseed and safflower oils * Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colors - These magnificent paints are designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint, but they're a bit special. You can use them without hazardous solvents - they're happy being thinned down and cleaned up with water. They're especially good for artists who share a workspace or don't want solvents in school or at home. Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paint - Davys Grey Deep, 473ml CanSave Up to30%Off listGrey Handmade Master Quality Oil Paints - Manufactured In The U.S.A! Getting the proper pigment is just the beginning! So much of the quality of oil paint is in the grinding. Each color is ground to enhance the beauty and luminosity specific to that particular pigment. Some colors by nature will feel slightly gritty, others extremely smooth. For instance, Cerulean Blue will have a beautiful velvet, light-absorbing surface with an extremely strong covering power; Siennas, by comparison, are often chunky or gritty to allow light to travel through the vehicle, exposing rich golden or mahogany undertow instead of just heavy, dull browns. Pigments are ground in pure alkali-refined, ph balanced linseed oil, and made in batches no larger than 5 gallons at a time. This gives total control over the paint, much like late 19th-century French color makers. All materials are hand measured, and every ounce of paint is scrutinized. Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors are then packaged in 37ml and 150ml non-reactive aluminum tubes. Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors are used by the world’s finest artists, whose works can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MOMA in New York City, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Beaubourg in Paris.
