The slight tooth and incredible priming make each stroke velvety smooth and luxurious. Years ago, we worked with an excellent Italian company in creating a linen canvas that would make oil painting a real pleasure and produce results that were more brilliant than before possible with commercial products. This linen canvas has a fine weave and texture and is created with one coat of natural glue sealer and four coats of oil priming. The Italian priming method was developed over five centuries. The difference is the reliability of the material and the consistency of the finished product. Although processed entirely by hand, the modern assembly line and super clean workplace allow the finished product to be amazingly consistent and beautiful. See More

Centurion Deluxe Oil Primed 24"x36" Linen Panel, 3 PackSave Up to84%Off listWhite Master Quality Archival Deluxe Linen Panels! Superb performance and color retention! Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming As an oil colorist it is important to work on oil primed surfaces and not universal primed surfaces. The reason is that universal primed surfaces are semi-absorbent. Gesso is absorbent even if it is plate smooth. The paint does not get absorbed as much and sits on the surface more making it easy to blend and manipulate. Granted it is not highly absorbent but the fact remains that some oil will get into the primer and flatten the image. You can get around this by using an under-painting oil ground on top of the surface of a universal ground canvas but this is very time consuming and expensive. Unlike universal ground, our oil priming chemically bonds with the oil paint and is non-absorbent allowing the paint to sit up on the surface with the correct refraction quality of the oil binder. If you use any high-quality oil color we urge you to use an oil primed surface and now we make it affordable! Exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming!
