The transparent medium conserves the natural silky finish of oil paint. Add 10% maximum to the total paint mixture. You can dilute the medium with turpentine. Safflower Oil: Clarified vegetable oil, a good drier with low acidity. Characterized by resistance to yellowing and excellent compatibility with pigments. Mix with oil colors to accentuate their fluidity, transparency and gloss without altering the hue's brilliance during drying. Veronese Paste Medium: is a medium that provides a uniform matte finish and rapid drying time. Covers quickly as it melds adjacent brush strokes. Veronese is ideal for large “alla prima” paintings or studies due to its plasticity and rapid drying characteristics. The medium may need to be thinned with petroleum spirits or turpentine.
