There are five types of Liquin, and each will help you accelerate the drying times of your oil paint. Each variety has a slightly different formula, but they are all related to the original Liquin recipe. Key Features: * Speeds up the drying process * Adds transparency and gloss * Non-yellowing Perfect For: * Oils and alkyds * Reducing brush strokes * Glazing and blending techniques Liquin™ Original - halves the drying time of oil colour and reduces brush stroke retention. Creates a smooth, gel-like paint film that is easier to work with. Liquin™ allows the paint to dry faster and makes working with multiple layers easier. Liquin™ Light Gel - halves the drying time of oil colour and produces a smooth gel. Creates low-viscosity, gel-like paint film that is easier to work with and reduces brush stroke retention. Liquin™ allows the paint to dry faster and makes working with multiple layers easier. Liquin™ Fine Detail - The most fluid medium within the Liquin™ family. Add to colour to produce a low-viscosity mixture. Increases fluidity and reduces brushstroke retention. Liquin™ allows the paint to dry faster and makes working with multiple layers easier. Liquin™ Impasto - A paste-like, semi-gloss version of Liquin™ that halves the drying time of oil and produces a crisp texture. Adds viscosity to your paint that retains marks from brushes or palette knives. It allows the paint to dry faster and makes working with multiple layers easier. Speeds drying (touch dry in 1-6 days, depending on paint thickness). Resists yellowing. Not suitable as a varnish or final coat. Liquin™ Oleopasto - A paste-like, semi-matte version of Liquin™ that halves the drying time of oil. Creates a viscous paint that holds many marks from brushes or palette knives. Suitable for impasto & texture work. Resists yellowing. Not suitable as a varnish or final coat. Dammar Glaze Medium - A traditional glaze medium (with cobalt siccative) that helps add depth and gloss to transparent colors. Known for its speedy drying time of oil… Handmade Oil Colour Mediums, Carefully Crafted From The Highest-Grade Natural Materials! Rather than using toxic and unpredictable lead drying agents, Michael Harding has prepared a selection of oil, resin, balsam, and wax painting medium creations that will safely yet traditionally alter your paint film to suit your painting needs! In place of traditional sun-thickened linseed oil, Harding’s oil mediums formula utilizes the best grade viscous linseed stand oil, given its ability to self level, imparts elasticity into the paint film, and does not yellow or darken appreciably over time. Otherwise, the raw materials used are consistent with those of the past. Mediums and varnishes are available in 100ml and 250ml jars. See description tab for information on each individual medium. Dammar Glaze Medium - A traditional glaze medium (with cobalt siccative) that helps add depth and gloss to transparent colors. Known for its speedy drying time of oil colors; use with slower drying colors. Oil Painting Medium - A basic oil medium designed to ease flow and increase gloss, transparency, depth, and bedaub of the pigment color. This medium is a linseed stand oil and turpentine formulation that prevents yellowing of paint film. Resin-Oil-Wax Medium - A soft painting paste, derived from pure bleached beeswax, mixed with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This popular medium creates a lovely satin sheen and gentle impasto in paint layers. Settling of the medium may occur - allow jar to stand in hot water and stir contents until dissolved. Oleo-Resin Medium - A historic glazing medium based on light colored Canadian balsam fused with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This versatile medium provides high gloss levels while imparting depth to paint films. Beeswax Paste - A high oil content paste based on linseed stand oil and pure bleached beeswax. The paste increases the body of oil colors with a satin-matte finish; especially useful with opaque colors. Balsam Resin Glaze - Another historical glazing medium, it is based on Austrian Larch Turpentine (Venice Turpentine) with Dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This wonderful smelling medium is added to oil colors to enhance depth, gloss, and luster. Matte Varnish - Creates a long lasting, protective coating with a beautiful matte finish. Made from real beeswax dissolved in the finest Portuguese Turpentine. Heat the container before using (until the contents turn clear) and then apply one thin coat - dries within minutes. Apply this varnish as a final picture varnish to thoroughly dried oil paint (6 months minimum- up to 18 months if paint is very thick). Dammar Varnish - Versatile varnish that creates a subtle gloss finish. Made from the best quality dammar resin from Thailand, dissolved in double rectified Portuguese maritime Turpentine, then carefully filtered. Apply as a final picture varnish to thoroughly dried oil paint (6 months minimum- up to 18 months if paint is very thick).
