Secondly, varnishes can be used to change or unify a painting's surface sheen. Liquitex varnishes come in several different sheens, which can all be intermixed for a customized sheen. Our varnishes are either permanent or removable and can be applied to both flexible and rigid supports. Gloss Varnish - This water resistant varnish delivers permanent, high durable protection that is flexible and no-yellowing when dry. A 100% acrylic polymer varnish that is water soluble and can be thinned. High Gloss Varnish - This permanent water-based varnish produces a finish that is high gloss, clear, sandable and non-tacky. It increases depth and color intensity; AP non-toxic. Matte Varnish - Enhances color while adding a non-glare, low sheen finish.
