White A gesso Made to the specifications of European conservators! Lascaux Acrylic Gesso is a semi-absorbent primer perfect for preparing canvas for oil, acrylic, and tempera painting. The gesso's pure acrylic resin composition is dispersed by rutile titanium dioxide and mineral based extenders. Once dry Lascaux Acrylic Gesso has a pure white matt finish with a good tooth. The white ground is elastic, lightfast, and age resistant. If desired after approx. 4 - 6 hours (according to the temperature), a second coat may be applied. Between the two coatings, uneven fibers and knots can be flattened with fine sandpaper. Coated fabrics can be rolled. On absorbent supports like paper, cardboard, and fibreboard Lascaux Gesso is applied diluted with 10 - 15% of water, as required. On wood or concrete, a preliminary coat of Lascaux Hydro Sealer diluted 1:4 with water is recommended. For the following coat of Lascaux Gesso, cut with 25% of water.
