Grumbacher Workable Fixative is a matte spray used to fix traditional dry media or dried designers gouache for additional layers of media. To prevent your paint from beading up on a non-porous surface like acetate, you can prepare the surface with workable fixative. Workable Fixative was initially developed for gouache paint users. The matte fixing spray allowed artists to fix dried gouache and paint over it without reawakening the original layer of paint. Now working fixative is primarily used with dry media. Grumbacher Final Fixative Matte Spray & Gloss Spray 11.75oz Can: Final Fixative is a workable fixative for charcoal, pastels, and pencil work, appropriate for use on paper, photographs, printed materials, and ceramics. Colorless, flexible, and non-yellowing, Final Fixative is fast-drying and can be reworked when dry. Do not over apply as it will cause a more dramatic color shift or even cause pastels to dissolve in the fixative.
