Each Spatcher features a nickel-plated brass ferrule that is glued into the paddle-style varnished wood handle. Two finishing nails secure the ferrule in place for years of carefree use. You can quickly clean the blade with soap and water or wipe clean with solvents. If acrylic paint dries on the blade, you can peel it right off. Hair sheds, brushes hold various amounts of paint, so you end up with excess paint in some areas, and brushes are hard to clean. With Spatchers, you can put color on the surface directly and let the tool do the work of spreading it on canvas, board, or panel. If you like, you can soften any marks with a soft brush.
