Golden OPEN Acrylic 5 oz Iridescent Pearl (Fine)Save Up to30%Off listIridescent Slow-drying acrylic paint that enables painters to explore techniques GOLDEN OPEN paint is a slow-drying acrylic paint that enables painters to explore techniques traditionally reserved for oil paints. The slow-drying quality gives artists longer working time for easier blending and even subtractive techniques. There is a unique thinner and mediums for use with OPEN, but the paints are compatible with regular fast-drying acrylics and clean up with soap and water like regular acrylics. OPEN Acrylics are formulated with an optimum balance of pigment load and 100% acrylic polymer dispersion to produce a paint with a uniquely relaxed set of working characteristics and a versatility that allows artists to explore a wider range of techniques such as portraiture and landscape painting that rely on softening, shading, glazing, and creating fine detail. Increased working time of these colors expands their range to include more traditional techniques once only possible with oils Key Features:* Resists skinning, remain wet on the palette for extended periods* Feels like no other paint* Stays wet longer* Expands the boundaries of acrylics* Formulated with an optimum balance* Tubes: 2oz. & 5oz. / Jars: 4oz. & 8oz.* Titanium White: 32oz. Jar* 100% acrylic polymer dispersion* Perfect For:* A uniquely relaxed set of working characteristics and versatility* Allowing artists to explore a wider range of techniques* Portraiture and landscape painting* Softening, shading, glazing, and creating fine detail* Plein air painting, mono-printing, and screenprinting* Drying time can also be accelerated by mixing OPEN with faster-drying acrylics like our Fluid and Heavy Body colors* Reducing the amount of paint wasted and preserving color mixtures for future use How long does it take for Golden Open acrylics to dry? GOLDEN OPEN typically dries in 3-5 hrs. To control viscosity while maintaining the maximum working time Use OPEN Mediums and Thinner. To accelerate drying time, OPEN Acrylics may be blended with faster-drying GOLDEN Acrylics, Gels, and Mediums. OPEN Acrylics resist skinning, remain wet on the palette for extended periods, and exhibit a remarkable versatility that allows them to be used directly from the tube for plein air painting, mono-printing, and screenprinting. OPEN Acrylics may be blended with other GOLDEN Acrylic Colors, Mediums, and Gels, with the open time of the resulting mixtures being proportionately reduced. Because OPEN Acrylics dry slowly, painters who cover their palettes or use sealed containers have been able to use the same colors for weeks, reducing the amount of paint wasted and preserving color mixtures for future use. Old Holland Oil Color - Titanium White, 1 LiterSave Up to44%Off listWhite Considered one of the Finest Oil Paints In the World! Manufacturing pigments since 1664, Old Holland Classic Oil Colors are still considered today as one of the top oil paints in the world! Boasting artists like Van Gogh, Vermeer, and other Dutch Masters that used their pigments and paints, Old Holland uses only pure, cold-pressed linseed oil as a binder with the highest possible pigment loads, creating brilliantly concentrated paints that provide exceptional covering power, strength of color, and color intensity. All Old Holland Classic Oil Paints are completely lightfast except for the Madder Lakes and Cremnitz White, which are nearly lightfast. All Old Holland oils are manufactured using stone rollers only, as the colors of the paint will not change due to metal oxidations (which will alter Cadmium colors). All colors are completely free of cheap fillers and artificial dryers like other premium paints contain. Although Old Holland Oils initially may seem very expensive, the heavy concentration of pigment is actually an exceptional value, given the covering power of the paint and minimum amount needed for color mixing. One tube of their highest possible concentration of pigment equals the pigment contained in 2 to three tubes of other professional brands! Old Holland Classic Oil Colors come in 40ml and 225ml tubes. Cremnitz White, Flake White, Mixed White, Titanium White, and Zinc White can be purchased in 125ml and 225ml tubes, as well as 475ml cans. I've used all of those latter paints quite a bit, but casein has qualities all its own. It can be used transparently, but it has great opacity when you need it, something often lacking in acrylic. It's one of the oldest paint mediums, dating all the way back to the Egyptians – JAMES GURNEY" What is Casein? Casein (kay'seen) is a quick-drying, aqueous medium using a milk-based binding agent, and is one of the most durable mediums known to man. Nine thousand year old casein cave paintings have been discovered in Asia. Later, the medium was used by Byzantine, Roman and Renaissance artists, including the Old Masters. Known for their versatility and array of capabilities, casein paints can be used to create a variety of effects from the rich opaques of oil to thin watercolor washes. Because casein has an exceptional integrity of color and always dries to a perfect matte finish, it is unexcelled for art reproduction. The velvety matte finish can also be buffed to a satin sheen or varnished to produce a resemblance to oils. Over time, casein pigments become resistant to moisture and as history has proven, the medium has a durability and permanence which has easily stood the test of time. Because it dries quickly, it is possible to lay down a glaze and move onto the next stage within a few hours instead of waiting for days, or even months, as with oils. Can I mix casein with other mediums? Yes you can! Use casein over watercolor or gouache or as an underpainting for acrylic, pastel or oils. If using casein under oils, apply a barrier layer of Damar varnish over the casein before the oil paint. Casein can also be used under oils as an excellent underpainting medium. See More

Cadmiums = A grade that has a high concentration of cadmium and is considered the highest quality. The C.P. designation has been associated with both “Chemically Pure” and "Concentrated Pigment". Which translation you come across will often depend on the source and context. In terms of “(CC)”, it refers to “Concentrated Cadmium” and was adopted by the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) as a way to differentiate higher quality cadmiums from lesser quality cadmium-barium pigments. All Heavy Body colors are thixotropic in nature This means that when brushing or stirring, the paints actually lose viscosity and feel much thinner. The faster the paints are moving, the thinner they feel. Returned to a state of rest, the paints gradually increase in thickness until they are again restored to their formulated viscosity. The Heavy Body line of acrylics contains no additional flattening agents, opacifiers or other solids that might interfere with the clarity of our pigments Please note: The items on this page are available at the Best Lowest Price Possible and no further discounts can be applied.
