Each canvas is woven with specially processed heavyweight linen to create a medium-tooth canvas with good paint-gripping texture. You can paint with acrylics, oils, and alkyds on the clear, acrylic primed surface. Senso Linen is also a great alternative to sanded pastel paper. You can frame the 1-1/2" deep canvas or hung it as is. The canvas is stretched onto genuine pine stretcher bars and folded to create a crisp, neat corners. Is linen or cotton canvas better? Linen is strong and durable, and remains the preferred surface for many artists. Linen is more expensive than cotton and retains its natural oils, which helps to preserve the fiber's flexibility and stops the canvas from becoming brittle. Caravaggio canvas is made from the highest quality materials to ensure the painting put upon it is of the highest archival quality. Caravaggio canvas is available in a variety of dimensions, textures and qualities. Artists can select Caravaggio canvas for a specific effect desired in a given painting such as extra smooth surface for portraiture, a bold texture for impasto, or an abrasive toothy surface to enhance adhesion for collage. Available in a selection of weights, dimensions, qualities & textures.
