Arches 88 is a 100% cotton fiber paper that is acid-free… 100% cotton – Made on a cylinder mould! Originally formulated decades ago for silkscreen printing, Arches 88 has gained a following for various printmaking techniques. The crisp white 140lb (300gsm) paper is dimensionally stable and provides a smooth level surface perfect for serigraphy. Arches 88 is a 100% cotton fiber paper that is acid-free and pH neutral. The buffered paper is unsized for high absorption. A silkscreen printer can easily layer 50 to 100 colors on a single sheet of Arches 88. Because the paper is unsized, it is unforgiving, so a single ink spot or splatter will show up. This paper has many of the characteristics of blotter paper and must be handled with purpose and sensitivity. When working in intaglio, a misting or dampening is all that is required. The paper is ideal for other printmaking mediums such as etching or lithography and takes all pencil applications well. Each sheet of paper is watermarked and has four natural deckle edges. Key Features: * Unsized and highly absorbent * 100% cotton – Made on a cylinder mould * 140lb (300gsm) weight * Very smooth texture * 4 deckle edges * Alkaline reserve, acid-free, no optical brightening * Made in France Perfect For: * Screen-printing * Letterpress, blind embossing, gold tooling * Intaglio * Etching and lithography * Pencil drawings * Laying down 50 to 100 screen colors on one sheet See More -
