Enkaustikos Hot Cakes Sets

The Let's Get Started! Hot Cakes Introductory Paint Set from Enkaustikos is an ideal way to get started with encaustic painting. This set contains a 45ml (1.5 fl oz) Hot Cakes tin of Titanium White, Bismuth Yellow, Naphthol Red, Ultramarine Blue, Wax Medium, and Slick Wax. You can mix a multitude of colors using this primary palette. The wax medium extends the paints, and the Slick Wax cleans your brushes and palette.

Academy Hot Cakes Set colors include Bismuth Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Naphthol Red, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, and Titanium White. A Wax Medium and Slick Wax tin are also included in this set.

The Extended Academy Set from Enkaustikos will allow more advanced color mixing. Each tin is 45ml (1.5 fl oz) of encaustic paint. Colors include Nickel Titanate Yellow, Bohemian Orange, Quinacridone Red, Dioxazine Purple, Phthalo Green Yellow Shade, Phthalo Blue Green Shade, Caput Mortuum, and Jet Black.

The Glazing Hot Cakes Set includes translucent colors that are beautiful for glazing and layering, especially when mixed with Wax Medium or XD Wax Medium. Each tin is 45ml (1.5 fl oz) of encaustic paint. Colors include Italian Golden Ochre, Quinacridone Red, Ultramarine Rose, Prussian Blue, Vagone Green Earth, and Transparent Red Earth. Mediums included are a 118ml (4 fl oz) tin of Wax Medium, a 118ml (4 fl oz ) tin of XD Wax Medium, and 117ml (6 fl oz. ) tin of Slick Wax. This set also includes a Slotted Brush, and one 3/4" Enkaustikos Hog Bristle Brush.

The Portrait Tone Set has five custom colors that address the lighter skin tones and highlights encountered in portraiture. Each tin is 45ml (1.5 fl oz) of encaustic paint. Colors include Naples Yellow Reddish, Sienna Pink, Golden Buff Titanium, Red Earth Pale, and Brilliant Yellow Pale.
