Your Personal Art Teacher!

The Home Art Studio program is designed to increase students' love and appreciation of the visual arts. Art education enhances a child's ability to problem solve, think creatively, and truly see the world around them. The 18 projects (on each DVD) students will complete are designed to illustrate the elements and principles of art in an age appropriate way. Lesson plans and instructions included on each DVD-ROM.

• Kindergarten DVD - 218 minutes | Get Supply List
  Kindergarteners will learn to identify and draw different kinds of lines, as well as create patterns through repetition of lines and shapes. They will be able to recognize and draw geometric and organic shapes. Students also learn how to use art materials in a safe, responsible manner. The projects are easy to follow and a lot of fun for students!

• First Grade DVD - 171 minutes | Get Supply List
  This unit focuses on art from around the world! First graders will learn about the visual arts in past and present cultures. They will master important art vocabulary and work in a variety of mediums. Together we will travel around the world, from Mexico to Australia, creating art! Every project is chosen to help develop specific art elements and principles, practice fine motor skills, and teach a little about the culture on which it is based. I know your students will love creating these original works of art!

• Second Grade DVD - 188 minutes | Get Supply List
  Second grade students will follow Ms. Volin on a magical adventure into the land of fairy tales. Each of the 18 lessons on this DVD are based on fairy tales from around the world. Students will learn the principles and elements of art while creating fun engaging projects. Some of the many concepts taught are pattern, overlapping, texture, and portraiture. Your student will enjoy a chance to express themselves creatively.

• Third Grade DVD - 125 minutes | Get Supply List
  Third grade students are guaranteed to have a great year of art! The theme for the year is "be creative", and students are encouraged to express themselves creatively through their art. Students will learn the principles and elements of art, while creating 16 beautiful and fun projects. Some of the many concenpt taught are light and shadow, tint and shade, overlapping, texture, and perspective. Students will also learn about art appreciation through analysis of famous pieces of artwork. Ms. Volin will introduce students to various artists from Picasso to Van Gogh and many others. • Fourth Grade DVD - 91 minutes | Get Supply List
  Fourth graders are going on a journey following Ms. Volin on her Adventures in Art! This DVD is full of fun and challenging projects that emphasize important art concepts and principles. Some of the many ideas taught are radial design, one point perspective, and adding shadows for more realistic drawings. This is a year's worth of art projects your student will love to create!

• Fifth Grade DVD - 96 minutes | Get Supply List
  Ahoy there, Mateys! The theme for fifth grade is A Journey Under the Sea! There are 13 projects on this fun and educational DVD, and each one relates to the wondrous world of the ocean. This year we will focus on reinforcing previously learned skills and building up new art principles and concepts, such as sketching, painting, sculpting, and printmaking. The projects are challenging for young creative minds but include step-by-step instructions for parents. We will even visit a professional artist’s studio and take an exciting trip to an aquarium! So join us on our artistic voyage, where you’ll “sea” how art can really come alive!
