Derwent Pencils and Drawing Materials
The United Kingdom’s first pencil factory was resurrected in 1832, eventually becoming the Cumberland Pencil Company in 1916. Cumberland produced several lines of pencils, including some for children, and later launched the Derwent line of fine art pencils in 1938. Since then, a wide range of Derwent products have been created as more and more artists around the globe fell in love with the quality and consistency of these fine pencils. Although the original founders of the factory would perhaps not recognize the company’s name today, Derwent’s commitment to quality and excellence has remained unchanged.
