Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! I use this masking fluid with both adult art lessons and and children's art camps. A very good product especially for the price in comparison to other brands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Product I've Used To Date! This is the 4th type of rubber masking product I've tried, and it's my ultimate choice! I use Pebeo to mask out big areas of my large scale (40" x 60") watercolors prior to doing the background washes. I literally paint Pebeo on filling in the shapes I want to protect from the intense background pigments. Regardless of how many washes I end up doing or how intense the color, this rubber film keeps the protected areas clean without marring the surface of the paper. The thing I really like, though, is the ease of removal. When I'm ready to take off the dried Pebeo, I work at the edge of a masked area with a rubber cement pick-up. As soon as I can grip a bit of the peeled material with my fingers, I quickly pull the remainder off in a single sheet. In most cases the product is very quick and easy to remove, and that's a huge time saver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product I use this as a resist for watercolor, gouache, and ink painting. It doesn't stain the paper and removes even after some length of time if I'm delayed finishing my painting. The only negative I can think of is the smell, and that is because it is rubber.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thin enough to control Much better than previous masking fluid I tried. Easy to control. Dried fast enough without a hair dryer. Used tip of watercolor brush to apply so I did not have to clean bristles, or ruin brush. Fluid is fluid and went where I put it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pebeo Masking: easy to use, easy to see Borrowed this product from a friend when I forgot to bring my own along. Not only was it smoother and easier to use than mine, but its pale color was easier to spot when I was ready to remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best masking fluid I've ever used. I use this to mask areas of my watercolor paper. You can get great effects with it. It does not ruin brushes. Cleans up very easily. The fact that it is colored helps in the removal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from save your whites EASY! Pebeo drawing gum makes saving your whites in watercolor painless! This product teamed with the rubber cement pick up makes this chore SO easy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mask It is much easier to mask small, detailed areas with this thinner product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've found! This is the fourth masking fluid I've tried, and I like it better than others. It is thinner than many, which makes doing fine lines and small areas much easier. An instructor in a watercolor class recommended using it with an adjustable architect's drawing pen, which works really well for fine work. Also, the pale blue color is perfect for seeing where it is without distracting too much from the composition during painting.

Is the pen (V28205) refillable, or does it need to be thrown away and a new one purchased once empty?

Asked by: Esahnik
The pen is not refillable, you would need to purchase a new pen once this one is empty. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Drawing Gum is a peelable solution used to keep areas of artwork free, for use with ink, watercolour, diluted gouache. It is used on paper, cardboard, Bristol board, acetate, and wood, using a brush or pen on parts of the work to be masked. Apply colour when the drawing gum is dry. Once the colours are completely dry just rub the gum with your finger or with an eraser to reveal the masked parts.
The Drawing Gum marker lets you use the product more easily, with a more precise application. It must be primed before initial use, then: - with the top on, shake the marker firmly to get the ball moving, - then, on a sheet of paper, press on the tip several times to soak it with paint. If residue forms on the tip, you can remove excess material with your finger. It must be stored horizontally with the cap closed and can be kept for 12 months after it is first primed at moderate room temperature (15-25 °C). The marker is an all-in-one tool. This single solution replaces the drawing gum bottle, the paint brush and the water container. This tool is very practical due to its easy handling, its small size suitable for children's hands and its use, which only requires you to choose a surface. It is a mobile product that can be taken everywhere.
