Varnishes are used to protect paintings. For fine art usage varnishes should be removable so that paintings can be cleaned in the future.
Artists' Gloss Varnish - A general purpose gloss varnish that dries to a non-yellowing glossy finish. Removable.
Artists' Matt Varnish - A superior quality UV resistant artists’ matt varnish removable with Artists’ White Spirit or Distilled Turpentine. Quick drying. Non-yellowing. Does not bloom or crack. Do not use until painting is completely dry (6-12 months). Shake well before use. Do not use as a medium.
Artists' Retouching Varnish - An excellent varnish for protecting artists' oil paintings until sufficiently dry for final varnishing. It will also brighten "Sunken-In" areas of your painting.
Dammar Varnish - A water white liquid which dries to a non-yellowing glossy finish and is used as a general purpose gloss varnish.
Japan Gold Size - A dark, thin liquid, which acts as a quick drying adhesive for gilding. Can also be used for exterior varnishing.Non removable. Not suitable as a picture varnish.
Satin Varnish - A superior quality UV resistant artists’ satin varnish removable with Artists’ White Spirit or Distilled Turpentine.Quick drying.Non-yellowing. Does not bloom or crack. Do not use until painting is completely dry (6-12 months). Shake well before use. Do not use as a medium.
