This is not strictly accurate as many other factors can affect the permanence of your work such as humidity, temperature, atmospheric pollution, reactions between different pigments and chemicals, the paper you use, and even the way you use your art materials. For optimum performance of your pencils follow these simple guidelines:
- Use high-quality pH neutral heavyweight paper
- Create strong, even layers and avoid damaging the substrate
- Do not hang or exhibit your work in direct sunlight
- Mount your work behind glass, preferably with an ultraviolet absorbing coating
- Remember that the lightfastness of Derwent Lightfast may be adversely affected if mixed with other products
