This 41" x 18" sample cut is made from fine linen flax, meticulously hand-processed and woven into a distinctive twill herringbone pattern for exceptional uniformity, strength, and elegance. The unique weave creates an incredibly fine painting surface with excellent resilience and dimensional stability. Great care is taken in producing each oil-prepared canvas. Synthetic glue, which is less sensitive to humidity, is used rather than hide glue. The coating itself consists of linseed oil as a binder, chalk, and titanium white oil paint as the pigment ground
