The BEST Heavy-duty Stretcher Bar is made of pine that has been finger spliced. Finger splicing is a method of bonding pieces of lumber together to form a very long, straight bar. Since the spliced joints are actually stronger than the natural wood, we can now get longer, stronger and straighter bars than ever before. First designed for the construction industry, this high tech method yields better bars than ever before. Perfect for gallery wraps. Select sizes available in 1" increments. All of BEST's Stretcher Bars are designed so that the canvas is always a full 1/2" (except lightweight) from the stretcher bar to ensure that there will be no "ghost" impressions on the canvas. The rounded back edge reduces surface friction and allows for a smoother, tighter draw on the canvas for a more even painting surface. Measures 1-1/2" deep x 2" wide. (See line drawing in images)
All Stretcher Bars are undersized by 1/8" to allow for fitting in a standard stock frame. If you require exact dimensions, this will be considered a custom order. Please call our Order Department 800-827-8478 ext. 218.

Cross Brace Recommendations: See the Stretcher Bar Cross Brace Layout on the cross bracing needs for the frame you wish to build. Select sizes are available in 1" increments. Larger and fractional sizes will be considered a custom order and would incur an additional cost. Please note: Cross Braces may require a notching process. Notching is also considered a custom order.

Wood Stretcher Keys are not automatically shipped with Stretcher Bar orders. You must order stretcher keys separately.
Select drop ship items requiring a Truck Shipment: Items marked with a "Truck Icon" are oversized and will incur an additional Drop Ship Fee added at checkout. NOTE - You will incur only one oversize fee regardless of the amount you order of "truck shipped" items, so order as much as you like.
