Premium 140lb & 300lb watercolor paper at an affordable price

New York Central® Watercolor Blocks come in 20 sheet blocks, Cold Press and Hot Press and are ideal for wet and dry media, especially watercolor, gouache, ink, and fluid acrylic paint. Made on a slowly rotating cylinder mould, the machine evenly distributes long cotton fibers to make each durable sheet. Internal gelatin sizing prevents paint bleed-through and preserves color vibrancy. Each sheet has a balanced grain that softens as a unit when wet. The paper can withstand a multitude of techniques, including wet color blending, paper scratching, and scrubbing.

The rigid backing board supports the paper and makes plein air painting simple. All four sides of the New York Central® Watercolor Blocks are glued to prevent the top sheet from curling and buckling as you paint. There is no need to stretch the paper before using it!

Key Features:
  • Bright white 140lb and 300lb paper made with 100% cotton
  • Acid-free and archival
  • Internally sized with gelatin sizing
  • Seven block sizes
  • Available in cold and hot press
  • Sizing preserves the luster and transparency of watercolors
  • Blocks eliminate the need to stretch paper
  • Superior surface stability
  • Made on a cylinder mould
  • Holds up to scrubbing and erasing
Perfect For:
  • Wet and dry media
  • Watercolor, gouache, ink, and fluid acrylic
  • Scrubbing and color lift techniques
  • Professional watercolorists
  • Simplifying the painting process
  • Keeping paper perfectly flat
  • For traveling or painting on the go

Please note: The bottom edge of each block has a one-inch section that is not glued. Insert a clean palette knife between the sheets in this section to separate the top sheet from the rest of the block. Gently slide the knife around all four edges until the top sheet is separated.
