La Carte Pastel Cards are professional acid-free and lightfast pastel paper cards designed explicitly for pastelists. Each paper card has a 170 lb. (360 gsm) stiff weight, similar to Bristol. It's hard to fold, crease, or puncture the card, unlike other pastel papers. The surface has a neutral pH, slightly abrasive vegetable fiber coating that reacts with soft and oil pastels to enhance adhesion, thus reducing the need to fix artwork heavily. The card has a soft, uniform tooth that grabs and holds soft pastel, graphite, and charcoal. Each pochette includes six paper cards measuring 11.8" x 15.75".
