These are the first wax and oil pastels certified under ASTM D-6901, tested to maintain their brilliance for up to 100 years. Developed in Switzerland with the same care as their acclaimed Luminance 6901™ pencils, NEOART 6901™ combines high pigment concentration with a soft, creamy texture that glides effortlessly onto paper, wood, canvas, and even glass.

Whether you're blending smooth gradients, etching with sgraffito, or exploring mixed media, these pastels are your go-to tool.

Certification - Certified ASTM D-6901 - At the request of the CPSA (Colored Pencil Society of America), the American Society for Testing and Material has developed the most stringent international standard: ASTM D-6901, which determines the level of lightfastness of colors. Obtaining this certification requires 3 months of strict outdoor testing in the Arizona desert and 400 hours of exposure to UV light in the laboratory. With NEOART 6901™, Caran d'Ache is the first brand to propose an assortment of 48 wax and oil pastels 100% lightfast, including 34 in the highest category, LFI (lightfastness I), and 14 in LFII.

Fixing and Conservation - NEOART 6901™ is a pastel made of wax and oil. The work does not need to be fixed using a fixing agent. As the entire color range is certified ASTM D-6901, NEOART 6901™ guarantees that artworks will stand the test of time thanks to lightfastness guaranteed up to 100 years. You can polish the artwork surface to obtain a glossy, varnished look.
