The New York Central Natural and Synthetic Blue Squirrel Hair Gilder's Tip Brushes are specialized flat brushes designed for the application of gold and metallic leaf. Handmade in Germany, both the natural and synthetic Blue Squirrel Hair is securely mounted in a square-edged cardboard holder. For our Natural Guilder's Tip Brushes, we use the sought-after winter coat of the Blue Squirrel's tail which is highly prized for its length, superb tip, and elasticity. Thanks to the recent advances in synthetic hair technology we have designed an economy line of New York Central Synthetic Gilder's Tip Brushes that mimic the properties of Blue Squirrel hair almost exactly. To use, pass the hair of the brush over the palm of your hand to create static electricity and then gently lift leaf with the brush tip. Burnish leaf down softly with a mop brush.
