Faber-Castell
The history of Faber-Castell is long and rich, beginning in 1761 when a cabinet maker named Kaspar Faber first established a pencil shop in Stein, Germany. But it was in 1905 that Count Alexander launched perhaps the company’s most famous product: the Castel 9000 line of green pencils. It was during this time that the “jousting knights” became a symbol of the company, symbolizing that their products simply rule the competition.
