Clear Granular Gel can extend paint and add texture without altering color. Clear Leveling Gel: [formerly Self Leveling Clear Gel] produces an even film with excellent clarity. It has a unique resinous, stringy consistency resulting from its leveling property. Clear Leveling gel dries to a flexible, high gloss film while imparting a leveling quality when mixed with acrylic paint. It blends well with GOLDEN Acrylic colors to produce glazes. Clear Tar Resin Gel: GOLDEN Clear Tar Gel is a 100% acrylic polymer colorless gel with an extremely resinous, syrupy, stringy, and tar-like consistency. Clear Tar Gel can be used to generate fine, detailed lines by "dripping" it over painting surfaces. It can be blended with all GOLDEN Acrylic paints, offering a full range of colors with which to work, although Fluid Colors work best. Extra Heavy Gel (Gloss, Matte, or Semi-Gloss): Have the thickest consistency of any gel offered by GOLDEN. The gel may be blended with acrylic paint to increase the viscosity. Extra Heavy Gel is excellent for holding peaks and tool marks. Extra Coarse Pumice Gel: The textured gel dries to a hard film. They mix well with GOLDEN Acrylic Colors. Regular Gel (Gloss, Matte, or Semi-Gloss): Regular Gel is ideal for extending paint and regulating transparency without changing consistency. Useful for impasto effects and holding moderate peaks of texture. They blend well with colors and will retain brush strokes upon drying. Soft Gel (Gloss, Matte, or Semi-Gloss):Thinner than GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylic colors, Soft Gels are moderately pourable. Hold only slight peaks. The recommended acrylic to function as a glue for collaging. This wonderful smelling medium is added to oil colors to enhance… Handmade Oil Colour Mediums, Carefully Crafted From The Highest-Grade Natural Materials! Rather than using toxic and unpredictable lead drying agents, Michael Harding has prepared a selection of oil, resin, balsam, and wax painting medium creations that will safely yet traditionally alter your paint film to suit your painting needs! In place of traditional sun-thickened linseed oil, Harding’s oil mediums formula utilizes the best grade viscous linseed stand oil, given its ability to self level, imparts elasticity into the paint film, and does not yellow or darken appreciably over time. Otherwise, the raw materials used are consistent with those of the past. Mediums and varnishes are available in 100ml and 250ml jars. See description tab for information on each individual medium. Dammar Glaze Medium - A traditional glaze medium (with cobalt siccative) that helps add depth and gloss to transparent colors. Known for its speedy drying time of oil colors; use with slower drying colors. Oil Painting Medium - A basic oil medium designed to ease flow and increase gloss, transparency, depth, and bedaub of the pigment color. This medium is a linseed stand oil and turpentine formulation that prevents yellowing of paint film. Resin-Oil-Wax Medium - A soft painting paste, derived from pure bleached beeswax, mixed with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This popular medium creates a lovely satin sheen and gentle impasto in paint layers. Settling of the medium may occur - allow jar to stand in hot water and stir contents until dissolved. Oleo-Resin Medium - A historic glazing medium based on light colored Canadian balsam fused with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This versatile medium provides high gloss levels while imparting depth to paint films. Beeswax Paste - A high oil content paste based on linseed stand oil and pure bleached beeswax. The paste increases the body of oil colors with a satin-matte finish; especially useful with opaque colors. Balsam Resin Glaze - Another historical glazing medium, it is based on Austrian Larch Turpentine (Venice Turpentine) with Dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This wonderful smelling medium is added to oil colors to enhance depth, gloss, and luster. Matte Varnish - Creates a long lasting, protective coating with a beautiful matte finish. Made from real beeswax dissolved in the finest Portuguese Turpentine. Heat the container before using (until the contents turn clear) and then apply one thin coat - dries within minutes. Apply this varnish as a final picture varnish to thoroughly dried oil paint (6 months minimum- up to 18 months if paint is very thick). Dammar Varnish - Versatile varnish that creates a subtle gloss finish. The ancient art of encaustic painting is brought into the 21st century with this excellent collection of handmade encaustic grounds, mediums, and raw materials from R&F! Enhance your encaustic paintings or make your own mediums to your specifications with this selection of fantastic ingredients. * Encaustic Gesso - This water-based ground is a modern version of the traditional gesso mix of rabbit skin glue and chalk. Specially formulated for encaustic painting, with a lower proportion of acrylic binder to solids, making it a more absorbent and receptive surface for wax-based paints. A quick and easy brushable white gesso. Specially formulated white ground for encaustics. * Encaustic Medium - Perhaps the most essential encaustic supply, Encaustic Medium is a blend of beeswax and damar resin, and is used to increase transparency and extend encaustic paints. It is important to use Encaustic Medium with your paints, as using only beeswax will reduce stability and produce a bloom on the painting that is only removable with heat. Available in either block or pellet form. Increases transparency and extends encaustic paints. * Impasto Modeling Wax - This heavy body wax medium is made from a mix of microcrystalline wax and beeswax. It is excellent for thick structural application, casting, carving, layering, and modeling. As Impasto Wax has a higher melting point than Encaustic Medium, you can apply standard encaustics over it without easily blunting sculptural shapes. Use for thick encaustic paint application and sculptural styles. * Damar Resin Crystals - A hard, clear resin from deciduous trees, Damar Resin Crystals are used to create encaustic mediums and paints. When mixed with beeswax, damar resin creates an encaustic binder that is stronger and more durable than beeswax alone, and also serves to raise the melting point of the wax. Damar is also used to create traditional oil painting mediums and varnishes. * White Beeswax (Pellets) - This natural beeswax has been whitened by mechanical filtration, instead of standard chemical bleaching, which can lead to negative pigment reactions and break wax down. Use White Beeswax as an ingredient in creating encaustic mediums and paints, along with Damar Resin, or as an initial priming layer for paper or board. Note that beeswax used alone in encaustics (without damar) is not as stable and is apt to bloom (become foggy). Use with damar resin to create encaustic paints and mediums. * Soy Wax (Pellets) - Made from partially hydrogenated soybean oil, Soy Wax is an environmentally friendly choice for cleaning encaustic brushes and tools. Unlike paraffin wax, which is made from petroleum products, Soy Wax is non-toxic, biodegradable, and made from an easily renewable resource. Use melted Soy Wax to remove color from painting materials, then wash tools or brushes in soapy water. Eco-friendly cleaning wax. See More -
