Professional Artist and Workshop Instructor Sharon DiGiulio joins the Jerry’s FB Live Team to provide a first-hand introduction to the world of encaustic painting! One of the oldest forms of painting in existence (dating back to 100-300 AD with the Fayum mummy portraits in Egypt), encaustics is painting with specially formulated, heated wax colored with pigments. A professional Graphic Designer, Sharon didn’t begin painting until 2000. She was exhilarated with the addition of color to her life, after the black and white of the print design world! Sharon currently works primarily with acrylics, collage, and encaustics. She also teaches workshops all over the South in collage, mixed media, and encaustics. Sharon is also the Coordinator of the HUGELY popular Art of the Carolinas, the largest yearly Art Materials and Workshops Trade Show in the country ( in November in Raleigh, NC-- sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama).
