For more than 200 years Pastels Girault craftsmen have been handing down their skills in the manufacture of a single product: the pastel. Founded in the 18th century, this cottage industry is now preparing its entry into the 21st century. Its own technical continuity means that today its customers can be offered the results of its long-standing experience. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, Pastel Girault was rewarded with several prizes in various exhibitions in Paris for its qualities which are acknowledged throughout the world.
Since 1780 these pastels have been made in France by independent artisans in a collaborative cottage industry. They are characterized by their soft, smooth working tendencies, proper adhesion to the support, pure, permanent hues that cover well and the possibility of drawing very fine lines. They require less fixative then other soft pastels and can be relied upon to a achieve excellent definition in your art.
