Soft, natural Chinese Sumi brushes for fluid, expressive strokes!
The new Chinese ZEN Brushes from figure painter Bill Buchman are among the highest quality available on the market today! Based on traditional brushes with added elements selected by Bill Buchman, they are perfect for use with watercolors, Sumi inks, calligraphy and technical inks, acrylic washes, India ink, gouache and more! ZEN Brushes are not just for traditional Sumi painting either — use some in your own works to open a realm of possibilities!
The Chinese ZEN Brushes consist primarily of goat's hair and thus are slightly more soft and pliable then the Japanese brushes which are made of horse hair. A small amount of bristle hairs and nylon have been blended in to give an ideal amount of resistance and body to the brush heads. These brushes are especially good for free flowing and expressive strokes and yet they are still firm enough to give control and accuracy when required. The long handles also encourage a feeling of freedom and fluidity. Like the Japanese ZEN brushes, these Chinese ZEN brushes are larger and of higher quality than those Sumi brushes generally available in the West up till now. The size of these brushes are especially well suited for the artist who wishes to work freely and on a grand scale. Enliven your own paintings with Bill Buchman's new Chinese ZEN Brushes!
