This French Easel holds paper, board or canvas up to 39.5" high and best of all holds them flush against its sketch box cover which serves as the mast of the easel. Unlike virtually all other French Easels which have an exterior sliding device built onto the sketch box cover this easel has an integrated internal sliding mast. With other easels any paper, board or small canvas can't lie flush and tends to wobble when you put pressure on your painting surface. This can be distracting and cause unwanted slips. With the Safari 2 you can draw like you would on a drawing table with absolutely no problems at all. When you're painting you can really work your picture with the same confidence as in the studio.

Another improvement is the larger height capacity (up to 39.5"). This comes in handy when using extra large sketching pads, papers and allows you to paint up to a 39" vertical pictures! The width of the easel surface is 14" so you can easily work up to 28" × 39" in size! The Safari 2 design also allows you to paint as small as a 4" high picture!

Made of sanded and processed Elm wood with a beautiful Walnut finish this easel has brass plated metal hardware, a fully divided sketch box drawer, shoulder strap rings, handle, rubber tipped telescoping feet for sitting or standing while working, a really good 12 × 16" wood palette and a linen shoulder strap. After painting you can use as a wet canvas carrier too! This versatile easel positions to virtually any angle or absolutely flat for working in any painting or drawing media. Folds to 24" L × 14" W × 7.1" D. Weighs 12 lbs.
