Lascaux's Sirius Primary System is a comprehensive color plan, using five formulated colors instead of the typical three. This system can produce a color wheel with precise gradation, color purity and definition—an effect previously unattainable—even with full spectrum ranges. Rather than using only three primary colors, this system uses magenta, red, yellow, cyan and ultramarine. Mixing equal amounts of the five primary colors yields a deep natural black. This vibrant Sirius Black plus Sirius White rounds out the system.
All tones of the color spectrum, as well as light and dark shades of each, can be harmoniously created, resulting in pure and clean mixtures. These pure brilliant transparent colors dry to a velvety matte water-resoluble finish. Existing color applications can be thinned with water, as well as painted over time without dissolving previous layers (retarded solubility). These paints can be applied directly to paper, cardboard or even canvas. Treat with Lascaux fixative for a scratch and water-resistant finish. They are non-toxic and environmentally safe and conform to ASTM-d4236 standards. No health labeling required.
