The Lascaux Sirius primary system is a comprehensive color experience. With the patented Sirius Primary System it is possible to produce a color wheel with pure and precise gradation and definition of color, unattainable in other color systems, that covers a full 360 color spectrum—all with only five specially formulated Lascaux Sirius colors.
These highly pigmented, brilliant and high chroma colours are smooth and buttery in their consistency. They dry to a rich matt, and waterproof finish and are more opaque than the Sirius Primary Watercolours. The colours can be applied in rich saturated layers or thinned with water for transparent glazes. When doing strong dilutions and repeated overpainting, the addition of Sirius Acrylic Medium is recommended; this will increase the film strength.
Lascaux Sirius Primary Acrylic colours can be applied to all absorbent supports such as paper, cardboard or canvas. They can be mixed with various acrylic mediums (Medium, Impasto Gel matt or gloss). For exposed work the matt surface should be protected with a varnish. For outdoor applications, final varnishing with Transparent Varnish UV is recommended.
