All mediums blend with GOLDEN acrylic colors.
Crackle Paste - Thick and opaque, designed to develop fissure-like cracks as it cures. The size and extent of the crackle pattern is dependent on many factors, including the thickness of application and the environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity and air flow) during drying. Crackle Paste is a water-based product and may have a tendency to yellow. It has a consistency similar to cake icing, easily manipulated by a palette knife. Peaks will maintain their height and appearance. Film dries to an opaque, matte, absorbent finish. Crackle Paste can be easily tinted with GOLDEN Acrylic Paints.
Drying times greatly depend upon film thickness. Very thin films will dry to the touch in several hours but may not develop much cracking. Increasing film thickness will increase the tendency to crack and also the size of the cracks, which can take several days to fully develop.
Do not force dry, nor try to slow the drying by adding Retarder or other additives, as both conditions may interfere with the products ability to crack. It is imperative to test all aspects when working with GOLDEN Crackle Paste. This is a highly variable product, and it should NOT be assumed that it will perform exactly the same each time the product is used. Conduct testing before using this product on artwork or decorative finishes.
Coarse Molding Paste - A thick, warm white colored medium that is translucent up to about 1/8".
Fiber Paste - Offers a dry film that has an appearance of rough handmade paper. Skimming the product with a wet palette knife can make a smoother surface. When dry, it has an off-white color and is very absorbent, making it ideal for use with acrylic and watercolor washes or inks. It has a thick, somewhat sticky feel in the wet state.
Hard Molding Paste - Dries to a hard, opaque film. Useful for creating tough, durable finishes for smooth or textured surfaces. Can be carved with hand or power tools.
Light Molding Paste - Offers dramatic weight reductions when building thick layers of acrylic. The density of the wet product is over 50% less than GOLDEN Molding Paste. This results in a significantly lighter film. Beneficial in creating artworks that are large in size, have thick film build-up, or both. Dries to an opaque, matte finish. The consistency is designed to hold stiff peaks to create a highly textured surface.
Regular Molding Paste - Excellent for building surfaces or creating textures. Similar in consistency to GOLDEN Heavy Gels, yet the marble dust solids impart a unique feel due to the material's higher density. It is an opaque gray product that dries to a semi-gloss sheen. Offers a hard yet flexible film that is capable of holding good peaks.
