Daler-Rowney System 3 Screen Printing Mediums

Turn your favorite acrylics into screen printing inks for paper or fabric!

These versatile and convenient mediums from Daler-Rowney will let you create an entire screen printing system from your favorite acrylic paints! Especially well-suited for use with System 3 Original Acrylics, these mediums can be mixed with acrylics to create printing inks, as well as mediums for marking out images and blocking off areas of the screen. Why invest in printing-specific inks when you can use System 3 and let your acrylics do double duty in both painting and printing?

• Acrylic Printing Medium – Use this water-soluble medium to turn System 3 acrylic paints into screen printing inks! This medium slows the drying time of acrylics, allowing them to be easily washed out of a screen. Mix Printing Medium 0.5 - 1:1 with System 3 acrylics to achieve rich, vibrant screen printing inks perfect for use on paper, card, and board.
• Textile Printing Medium – Similar to Printing Medium, Textile Printing Medium retards the drying time of acrylics on the screen while retaining the brilliant colors of the paint. Textile Medium enables you to print on cotton, cotton blend, synthetic, silk, and other natural fiber fabrics for detailed images that will withstand 20+ wash cycles. Mix Textile Medium 1:1 with System 3 acrylics to make the printing ink, and when the print is dry, iron it on the reverse side to heat set.
• Screen Drawing Fluid – This convenient fluid can be thinned with water and applied with a brush to draw detailed images or lettering directly onto a screen. After drying and blocking, rinse Screen Drawing Fluid from the screen with a spray of cold water, leaving behind a negative image ready for printing!
• Removable Screen Block – Once an image has been drawn with Screen Drawing Fluid and is dry, squeegee a layer of Removable Screen Block over the entire screen to block the fabric and prevent ink from passing through it. Once the Screen Block is dry, the Drawing Fluid can be rinsed out with cold water, and the revealed image can be printed. After you are finished with the screen, the Screen Block can be removed with hot water and soap, allowing you to reuse the screen fabric.
