June Artist of the Month - Denise Saylor

I have been painting and drawing my entire life. My earliest memories were of drawing constantly on anything I could get my hands on! When I was around 12 years old, I spent some time taking oil painting classes with an instructor who only accepted children who were already talented. I basically had to "audition" to be in her class. What Works for You? by Deb Bartos

I’m now doing a seasonal blog for Jerry’s (four times a year) as this works for me. Winter is the perfect time for soul-searching, organizing,  and removing the clutter to make room for the new life that appears in spring. I’ve always liked to look at life in seasons, and love them all. They all have their own beauty, and their changing nature reminds me first that change is possible and secondly, not to take the present for granted, as of course, it doesn’t last. Is Art Fun? by Micah Mullen

Is art fun? Today I was asked this question at my job during a meeting for a new fledgling project. A question that I would think would have a definite YES - seemed much more difficult to answer. I spend hours and hours each week in front of my easel, at my day job I spend even more time reviewing art materials and focusing on how to better improve an artist's life, many weekends are spent at museums, galleries and shows.
