Art as Play by Deb Bartos

Thinking about how much we have invested in art materials and frames, can lead to careful but un-inspired work.  Painting from reference materials (even your own, hopefully they ARE your own) can also produce nothing but stagnation. Before I start a new piece, I usually ask myself, “Why am I painting this?” If I have a good reason, it usually achieves much better results than slavishly copying something that inspired me when I saw it on location. Finding Inspiration in Shanghai by Heather Goldstein

I was recently lucky enough to get to visit China and I cannot even begin to express what an extraordinary experience it was. One of the most special things I was able to do was visit the M50 in Shanghai.  The M50 is a new art district with over 120 art galleries and art studios.  It is the center of Shanghai's art scene.  It is also a testiment to China's progress and a miraculous showing of Chinese Contemporary Art. Defining Urban Derivatives by TMNK

The streets are talking, and a NOBODY like me  is not only listening but is adding to the conversation with a unique and compelling style of art I call "URBAN DERIVATIVES." Not content with simply "getting up" on walls and having my work seen and appreciated by the masses.
