Yasutomo Sumi-E Supplies
Launched in 1954 by Ben Yasutomo in Japan as well as San Francisco, Yasutomo and Company was established to merchandise Japanese and American goods between the two countries. Early on, Japan exported art supply products to the US, while the US provided Japan with unique American snack foods. In the 1960’s, Yasutomo brought the world’s first fiber-tipped marker to the US Market (the Pentel Signa Pen). This unique writing instrument took the world by storm and was even used by Lyndon Johnson in the White House. Yasutomo continues to meet their goal of supplying unique, affordable and safe products, as they now offer over 1,500 art and office supplies to people all over the world.
