They say necessity if the mother on invention, and that is no different for the story of Soltek Easels. Artist Jim Wilcox began designing a lightweight easel that was great for travel and easy to set up. After years of using traditional French easels, Jim began to think they were awkward, heavy, hard to set up and generally outdated for today’s artists. In 1999, he decided to manufacture his new easel for the rest of the art world, and Soltek Easels were born. Wilcox continually improves upon his original design, and after nearly 20 years of research and development, Soltek Easels are better than ever.
